Viking Expedition started out as a Danish-Peruvian trekking agency based in both Copenhagen and Cusco. We – Danish Hans Erik Rasmussen and Peruvian Christian Peña, founded Viking Expedition to offer tailor-made treks and expeditions with a high level of service to a Northern European audience. In close collaboration with individuals and agencies, who share the same values, we now operate in the Andes, Pantanal, The Amazon, the Galapagos Islands and Patagonia. South America is our main destination.

We have been on all the tours and treks we offer. Adventurous history
We have been exploring South America since our youth. Hans trekked the Inca Trail for the first time in 1983. In 1986 he and his friend Calle bought two horses and rode three months in the Bolivian part of the Andes. Afterwards they bought a tree trunk canoe and paddled down the Beni river i the Amazon. Hans has also made several long treks in the Peruvian Andes og the Amazon. He has spend months among the yanomami people in the Venezuelan part of the Amazon.
