1-10 of 2,050 Viking Ocean Viking Star Cruise Reviews
We wanted to escape the Virginia cold, so we booked a 33 Day Cruise on Viking. It was our first Viking Cruise, and we were very impressed. The staff were excellent. Cornelia, the Cruise Director, was a sweetheart! After one morning visit to the Cafe Bar on Deck 1, young Ganesh had memorized our names, knew what we wanted and provided me a Cafe Con Leche and Blueberry Muffin for the next 30 days! ...
We very much enjoyed the Hawaiian Sojourn Cruise on Viking Star. Our PV2 Stateroom was lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of closet space and drawers for all of our clothes. We loved the robes and slippers they provide. The bathroom is lovely with a heated floor and towel rack and has plenty of storage space as well. The staff and crew on Viking are exceptional, always ...
Our cruise on Viking was so-so at best. I will be avoiding that cruise line in the future.
LAX as a major departure/arrival airport and San Pedro as the cruise port are EXTREMELY unsuitable and inconvenient. I have no idea why Viking selected this terrible combination as one of their two basic ports (the other being New York -- can you believe it?).
There was hardly anything for us in the ...
Chose our 1st Viking cruise from an advertised special on internet. Didn't appreciate had to pay for cruise in full at time of booking. Very inconvenient. The attention to detail definitely noted. The food very good and well presented.would have liked more variety of entertainment and more recent movies in state room. Staff was wonderful. Disappointed in excursions but narrators and drivers were ...
That catchphrase is used by Viking, and it's apropos! We explored everything --- the ship, the food, the learning opportunities aboard and ashore. We thought it was quite a great cruise -- the ship is modern, with great ambiance, terrific crew from over 50 countries, amazing food.
We enjoyed this being a cruise for adults (no kids under 18), and with no casino to have to go through, and no ...
We chose this cruise so we could celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in a special way. This was our first cruise.
I would have liked at least two days at each port for further sightseeing. Half a day was just too short.
We ate primarily at the World Cafe. I can control what I eat and how much I eat better at a buffet. I don't eat fish and felt there was an over abundance of fish featured ...
I've sailed with Viking before and honestly, won't cruise with anyone else. The ship is marvelous. The support before and during the cruise is professional and total. The staff are unfailingly helpful and pleasant. The excursions well planned and organized. A well written daily newsletter (Viking Daily) provided information about all the goings on for the next day so you have time to decide what ...
We chose this itinerary because we had done a Viking river cruise and thought having a journey with more relaxing time onboard would be very luxurious and relaxing. The accommodations are nice, spotless and relaxing. There are many areas to spread out on the Star. Many places to socialize, have a drink or seek privacy and read a book. Housekeeping services were exceptional, our room steward did a ...
From the embarkation to the sad day we had to leave the ship, it was wonderful. The weather and the seas did not take away from the on board experience. This was our first Viking cruise and I can see why they won Best. We have been sailing with another luxury cruise line that has reduced it's quality. Viking gave us what we paid for. Crew was exceptional from the Officers to cleaning crew. All had ...
The ship appearance, crew attitude, pianist performance were great. The theater we visited once. There were long lines to get in.
We were not too impressed with the variety of food in the cafeteria (World cafe). They also did not extend lunch beyond 2:30 on port days, so you missed the main lunch then. The hamburger counter had to be used instead if you took an excursion.
The included ...
