"The hotel space was not large enough to hold everyone (literally people standing or sitting on the floor everywhere including the hallway), there was only coffee and water even through lunch time), there was initially only one person at a table with an extremely long line to check in for your bus departure time (this was ridiculous and should have included in your documents the night before), and there was no system in place to make sure everyone got on the correct bus.” Unlikely, as all the shuttle bus stops were the same locations listed by one of the excellent World Cruise blogs I’m reading (I got more information from that blog than from Viking)...."Read More

1-10 of 123 Viking Ocean Viking Mars Cruise Reviews
This was the BEST cruise I have ever been on. The excursions were exciting and informative. I learned so much about the Panama Canal that I never expected. During our days at sea, there was so much to do and so many wonderful people to meet from all over the world. The entertainment was great and there was something to do for everyone. Some of the activities really opened everyone up. We had so ...
This cruise was the epitome of a true vacation experience. No checks to settle, no supplies to buy, no arrangements to worry about. Once paid for and excursions picked and spa treatments scheduled, RELAX in luxury. I felt like an imposter on the ship but went with it. No lines, ever. Gourmet restaurants. Amazing ports. I had zero complaints over the 2 weeks we sailed. Booked on 3 future adventures ...
We have over 40 cruises under our belts, but this was our first Viking Ocean cruise. The ship and furnishings are beautiful with plentiful public spaces in which to spread out and relax - crowding was extremely rare or non-existent. Staterooms are comfortable with roomy bathrooms (and heated floors!). Food quality and choice of dining venues were generally excellent. Crew was consistently helpful ...
Panama Canal cruise with Viking is the best cruise I have ever been to by far.
Buying cruise and after sale communications - A+.
Ship Mars - A+. New ship feels like NEW. Great design, smooth sailing.
Stateroom - A+. Spacious room with balcony, large bathroom, fully equipped.
Food - A-. Buffet on the deck 7 and The Restaurant on the deck 2 are both outstanding. Specially restaurants on ...
For our 3rd traverse of the Panama Canal, we expected Viking to offer a distinct educational experience and culinary quality. Both were average (to be generous). One of the lecturers spent more time presenting his experienes in SE Asia than in the Panama Canal and Central America. None of the lecturers addressed the substance of developments in the canal's routing, engineering, building, and ...
This ship was built with a specific consumer in mind. Wonderful for seniors who want a smaller luxurious experience with no children, good food, great shows, and very attentive staff. It is easy to find a place to sit without having to search hard for an available lounge chair or quiet area to read. Included free access to spa facilities, wine and beer at meals, specialty coffees all day, and ...
This was our first Viking cruise and the best we’ve ever taken. It was pricier than other lines, but well worth the cost, especially as everything was included - the only extras we had to pay for were more expensive excursions, and gratuities at the end of the cruise There was a drinks package you could add but wine with meals was included so we felt no need to add more. There were many options ...
What a trip! This was our first experience on a Viking cruise. The ship was lovely with its truly Scandinavian vibe and decor. Having been to Scandinavia before, we definitely felt the calm, welcoming, warm "hygge" atmosphere on board. There were plenty of quiet spaces, excellent lectures, and beautiful pieces of art, history & culture to explore. The informative shore excursions were a real ...
We chose this cruise because Panama Canal was on our bucket list, but I won't go on a ship with over 1000 guests. I was interested in trying viking because we'd already booked an expedition to Antarctica, but mostly, the itinerary and length of the cruise suited me - a full crossing WITHOUT days of sailing up west coast of Mexico, where we've been many times. Also, in the lowest grade cabin, the ...
We originally chose this cruise as Panama Canal was on "Bucket List". Wanted full crossing in original canal. Also, won't go on large ship anyway. (Beware - most of larger ships go through new locks just completed in 2016 - less history).
Also, we don't like all of the stuff Viking doesn't have - gambling, hard sells and add-ons. So we decided to give it a try. Here are our thoughts ...
