Return to Cruising is a Mixed Blessing
"Again, I was just so grateful we were not required to test to return home, because there is a pretty good chance one of us would have tested positive, even though we all felt fine.My 73 year old sister decided not to join us on this cruise when renting a motorized chair seemed too logistically difficult through a European port; I was relieved when she made that decision since two tendered ports were added to the itinerary, thinking that would be difficult for her to negotiate, when actually they were the easier ports to exit/enter the ship with mobility issues...."Read More

An enjoyable relaxing cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Apex

10+ Cruises • Age 60s

Embarkation Embarkation was very simple. We walked right in around 11:00, waited mere seconds in line for the X-Ray, then walked right up to a boarding agent. A few seconds of paperwork and we were allowed to begin the trek to the ship. Total time: less than 10 minutes from entering the terminal to standing on the ship. Dining We were Aqua Class, so we took most ...

Will never go back to Celebrity

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Apex

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

This was the first time cruising with Celebrity as our son was getting married on St. Thomas. We heard from so many people that Celebrity (Apex) is a step up from Royal Caribbean (which we have always cruised with) and that the food and service was so much better. Naturally our expectations were very high........boy were we DUPED! The service on this ship was pretty much non-exsistant. Service ...

Wonderful time on the Apex...in a Celebrity Suite

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Apex

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

EMBARKATION DAY: Easy peasy. First of all, we live about 38 minutes from Port Everglade, so that part is a pleasure and part of why cruising is such a stress free escape for us. Terminal 25 is beautiful...we arrived at about 11 and as Retreat guests, we were guided to some elevators where we were checked on an ipad and walking up the gangway within minutes. We walked to our room and entered ...

Celebrity Apex not quite at the Apex

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Apex

10+ Cruises • Age 70s

We choose this cruise to join a social group of people of Greek American backgrounds who organized it and provided Greek entertainment to the group during the cruise. I was our second cruise on Celebrity and our eleventh cruise. In addition to Celebrity we have sailed with Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Norwegian, and Cunard. Embarkation: We rolled the dice and took a flight from ...

We went on this cruise with several other couples who got a good deal through a travel agent. We have been on several other cruises, but this was our first with Celebrity. We were in room which was near the front of the ship. Our room was very nice. The food on this ship is comparable to other cruise lines. There were not as many bells and whistles on this ship as with some others, but this ...

Surprisingly Upscale Cruise

Phenomenal shows, easy getting onboard and off. Staff also phenomenal. We had select dining and never a wait after 7pm. We wanted to sit alone, so having four smaller restaurants was perfect. Like going out to dinner at a restaurant every night. We tried each room's specialties and thought they were delicious. Also enjoyed the Rooftop restaurant and Eden and thought the extra charge worth it. ...

Not up to expectations

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Apex

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

4th time on a celebrity cruise and this is the first time we were disappointed. In summary, there needs to be additional staff in the buffet area and the bars. Returning to your table to find the dishes from the first course have not been cleared is not fun. We had to stack our dishes and place them on another empty table. Waiting to order a drink at lunch was a waste of time. ...

Almost Perfect

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Apex

SRTK
6-10 Cruises • Age 70s

We have sailed on Celebrity Solstice ships before but this was our first time on an Edge ship. It is an ultra modern ship in terms of design. All facets of the ship are well appointed, well laid out and very clean. It strikes me that Celebrity is targeting a certain market in terms of age and income. This is basically not a ship for kids or teenagers. Food and wine are important aspects of ...

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

In a nutshell: Flew in one day early (late). Southwest sent one bag to Orlando. Retrieved at 9:00AM on sailaway day. Bullet dodged. Embarkation was simple and flawless. Concierge lunch in Tuscan was excellent. Introduction to infinity balcony was better than expected. We loved it! Tired sailaway dinner in Oceanview was rather good. Ate there the rest of the week rather than the ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Apex

October road
2-5 Cruises • Age 50s

This was the first time my husband and I have cruised alone. We chose Celebrity because we wanted an elegant, comfortable ship with great food. We sailed in a concierge class cabin, very centrally located mid ship on deck 12. We were just a few steps away from the elevators and stairs. At first we thought this might be a negative due to sound and traffic, but were surprised how extremely quiet ...
