Too many cut backs poor service food and entertainment

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Iona

Lindypops
10+ Cruises • Age 70s

check in was easy and took about 30 minutes to get on the ship. We self disembarked which was also quite quick . No wow factor on boarding the ship. There are 3 sets of 8 lifts and you wait ages for a lift and it is often full . Maximum 8 people in each lift less if there is a mobility scooter or wheelchair and there are over 5000 guests . Last day 12 lifts out of 24 were out of ...

Iona fails to sparkle or delight

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Iona

NorthernCruiseExplorer
2-5 Cruises • Age 60s

Having cruised with P&O several times, and on Iona before, we were happy to book a 14 night trip to the Canaries. However, our experience during the cruise will lead us to explore other cruise lines in future. We recognise that P&O Cruises offer a value proposition - and in many ways it delivers the basics well. But even a value proposition can delight customers through actions which are not ...

Not up to P & O old standards

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Iona

Theoldboy
6-10 Cruises • Age 60s

Food was OK unless you paid extra when it was great. entertainment was poor compared to pre pandemic times. Far to much emphasis on tech not on quality. In old day you got a new show every night. No longer it's every other night. on line booking system is poor and older people found it difficult to use. rooms were narrow but the conservatory was great Internet package worked well but ...

P&O more like P & NO!!

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Iona

Cruise Adventure
10+ Cruises • Age 30s

Where do I begin... Arrived on this two week cruise with an open mind as I usually cruise frequently with another provider. Iona is a much larger ship with different facilities onboard than I am use to. Once onboard after by inlarge an easy embarkation process, I embarked onto this enormous ship. The Atrium is not spectacular and feels more like a shopping centre on a high street than the ...

Service not at all up to scratch

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

Tony999
10+ Cruises • Age 60s

Service was terrible on this cruise and will seriously consider long and hard before booking with P&O again we have cruised multiple times now and not always with P&O so I know a bit of what I am talking about when it comes to service and what to expect, what I dont expect from service is waiters serving food across you, having to ask for water at the table , food wasn’t great at the main dining ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

P & O Arvia Review 16th February 2024 – Barbados round trip 2 weeks P&O with TUI arranged the flights from Gatwick. This was excellent; plenty of helpful staff at the airport and checked the bags which we did not see again until they arrived in the cabin. We flew premium, on a Dreamliner and TUI were again excellent and at BDI we simply went straight onto the coach and to the ship for ...

Embarked the ship and were greeted by staff who advised us how to find our cabin, reach cabin to be greeted by our Cabin Steward, a lot of reviews saying cabinscan ship were ...

No idea how this ship is rated any higher than 2 stars

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Ventura

Dickie84
10+ Cruises • Age 40s

I travelled on P&O for first time and selected the ship Ventura. This was my first mistake, the ship has no wow factor like I've experienced with other brands. My biggest mistake was choosing P&O as their staff in Bars and Restaurants simply don't seem to care. 1) ordered wine with dinner, it turned up whilst I was eating my desert. 2) I asked to order a drink at a bar. It Was ...

Great ship

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

First Engineer
10+ Cruises • Age 70s

After many years sailing with Princess cruises we decides to have a change and try P & O as they appeared to offer good value for money. Arvia was a new ship and we had received some good reviews about it and its sister ship Iona. We were quite fortunate to be flying TUI from Manchester to Bridgetown and everything went exceptionally well, we certainly liked depositing our luggage at Manchester ...

Felling more downmarket every year, despite getting more expensive!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Britannia

Seeyoujimmy
6-10 Cruises • Age 60s

Booked last year on Board, after a New year cruise, we had some concerns that P&O were cutting everything whilst trying to attract a different client group, but we decided to give it a chance! the result was a mixed bag: The Good: Britannia is still an impressive ship and generally feels spacious, she handles roughish seas quite well. Lots of people made the effort on Celebration night to ...
