In December 2022 I took Tauck’s Yuletide cruise on the ms Grace from Amsterdam to Brussels. It had never occurred to me to spend Christmas in another country. I had such a phenomenal time that when I got home, I contacted my TA and had her book me on back to back Yuletide cruises for Christmas and New Year’s this past year.
I spent 3 days pre-cruise in Amsterdam and then boarded the ms Grace ...
We booked the top level cat 7 because we wanted it to be special even though it was expensive, almost twice as much as the lower levels. The water was low on the river and caused the cruise to turn into a BUS trip. Tauck did a terrible job of handling this. For the first six days they bussed us from place to place, packing and unpacking several times. While on the "BUS excursion" the food was ...
Chose the cruise location of Central Europe because wanted to see Budapest, Vienna and Prague. Tauck was recommended by a travel agent and they were FANTASTIC, down to each and every detail. Food was very good, accommodations were great. With about 100 on board, the size was quite nice. They simply could not have had a better crew. The special dinners were really a nice touch. I will ...
We wanted to see Paris and other sites such as Monet's Garden. The weather was perfect the entire trip and the excursions were excellent. We first stayed at the Hotel du Louvre for two nights and it exceeded our expectations. While we enjoyed our Tauck cruise, mostly due to the excellent weather we had and the excursions, the entire Tauck experience did not meet our expectations. We expected ...
We had been reluctant to do a river cruise as we had heard mixed reviews from friends and family who had done them. We somehow found Tauck through our research and booked the 2 week Amsterdam to Budapest cruise for our first try. The trip was fantastic in every aspect: Ship, itinerary, food, crew, tour guides, excursions, cabin, service, and all of the extra touches provided by Tauck. All ...
Pros: Very comfortable cabins, Professional but also friendly staff.
Cons: cost efficient only for those who go in every excursion, Only one day in Vienna, cuisine generally non-impressive.
This was a seven day cruise traveling west on the Danube River from Passau to Budapest. I’d note that the waters of the Danube were very high during the trip.
Tauck river cruises are ...
We traveled with Tauck once before, to Galapagos, and it was wonderful. I was particularly impressed with the way the scheduling was carefully planned so that we never felt rushed and had plenty of time before and after excursions. It was a small ship cruise, with only around 40 people.
This river cruise, "Holland & Belgium in Spring," was the opposite in terms of pacing. We have been to ...
This is one of many river cruises my husband and I have taken with the incredible company, Vegan Travel (www.vegan-cruises.com). We have sailed on many different boats but the experience is always the same - wonderful! The MS Joy is a beautiful boat, with well-designed, clean and comfortable cabins that make you feel special and at home at the same time.
When Vegan Travel takes over the boat ...
I was on the December 20, 2022 Yuletide Spirit sailing on the ms Grace from Amsterdam to Brussels. It was an outstanding cruise featuring Winterfest in The Netherlands and Belgium. It wasn’t marketed as a Christmas market cruise, so the focus was a bit different although we did have the opportunity to visit a couple of winter festivals in The Netherlands and a few Christmas festivals and markets ...
We started in Dusseldorf (not in the options for embarkation above). The previous night the ship had been in an industrial area miles out, so I was expecting to pay for taxis, but on the day they had moved to a berth right in the heart of the old town. Here and in Cologne (where the towns are actually on the Rhine) Tauck had the prime spot to walk into town from.
Unfortunately the weather at ...
