Oceanwide’s next new vessel Janssonius will have a Polar Class 6 designation, ice-strengthened to cruise through the polar region during the spring and summer. The vessel will have 80 oceanview cabins that will accommodate up to 170 guests. Six grand suites will have private balconies, while all other accommodations will have windows or portholes. Bedding configuration will range from bunk beds to two separate lower beds and one double bed. The ship will have one main dining room, a lecture room, an observation lounge with a bar and a coffee corner, a library, and a shop.

Yet to be named, the seventh and final vessel of SunStone’s Infinity Series will be a Polar Class 6/Ice class 1A vessel and will feature 95 guest cabins that will accommodate up to 190 guests. Like all other Infinity class ships, the vessel will have an inverted bow, designed to cut through the waves to offer a smoother ride. In addition to restaurants, lounges, and a lecture hall, there will also be a 180˚ observation deck, a fitness center, a spa, a sauna, and a platform designed for kayakers and divers.

World Seeker will be operated by expedition line Atlas Ocean Voyages, whose fleet currently includes World Navigator, World Voyager, and World Traveller – all built by Mystic Cruises. The vessel will have a yacht-like onboard ambiance with a main restaurant, an outdoor grill, three bars and lounges, a fitness studio, a spa, a sauna, a pool, and hot tubs. All accommodations will have oceanviews with windows, Juliette balconies, or verandahs, and there will be three categories of one-bedroom suites.

The newly created Norwegian company is planning to launch the world’s first emissions-free expedition ship, and a letter of intent has been signed with a Portuguese shipyard to build it. The ship will run fully on electric propulsion, and according to its website: “Northern Xplorer will offer a first-class, sustainable cruise experience exploring the smaller, hidden gems of Northern Europe.” The project is currently still in the design and capital-raising stages.
