This is our first trip on Viking and since it was a flash sale, it was a real bargain. Viking has excellent service and makes transportation really easy when you book air through them. The included excursions had decent tour guides and we loved the steam train ride. The stops were interesting with lots to do.

We had the basic room but the windows were big, compared to portholes on a Uniworld ship. The shower was well designed and had good water pressure.

Compared to Uniworld, the wine that was free with dinner was the same each night and not that great. Even though we were in France, the food was decent but not that French. The fish was always excellent with a tasty sauce. The presentation not as good as Uniworld. The desserts were also more refined and varied with Uniworld, and less fancy on Viking.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

Comfortable room with lots of storage.

Window is something like 2 x 10.

Port Reviews

Arles

Fun to visit the sites with history of Van Gough. Love the Roman amphitheater and forum. Also loved the Luma museum by Frank Gehry.

Tournon-sur-Rhone

Loved the steam train ride

Avignon

Tour operator cancelled the all day Provence Lavender field tour which created a big disappointment. Viking arranged basically a taxi to take us but it was not that good of a substitute.

Avignon itself is a lovely place to visit.
