This was our first Virgin Voyage and we were so looking forward to it. A majority of the reviews we read were fantastic and apparently Virgin has top notch reviews all around. We did the 5 night Dominican Daze cruise leaving from Miami stopping in the DR, Bimini Beach Club in the Bahamas, and then back to Miami. The overall vibe of the ship is great and I love all of the spaces on the ship. There were so many tucked away private spaces that made it interesting to me. Our room was large enough (sea terrace) & the balcony was nice with the hammock to lounge in. The bathroom was quite tight, not much shelving, and NO products other than bar of soap and the ones in the shower. We enjoyed how you can control everything in the room with the tablet (the curtains, TV, AC, and even different mood lighting modes). The rain shower head in the shower was absolutely perfect and a nice touch. The shows and entertainment on the ship were some of the best I’ve seen in ANY cruise ships. The parties and themed nights were also very fun to take part in. Can’t miss Scarlet Night, pajama party, scarlet pool party, etc. there are many bars on the ship all offering subtly different vibes and fri no s as well. The sit down restaurants for the most part were amazing, with the exception of Razzle Dazzle and Gunbae. The food at these two were very sub par in our opinion and a disappointment. We very much enjoyed brunch at The Wake, dinner at the wake, and dinner at Extra Virgin and Pink Agave. We did not get a reservation at Test Kitchen, but heard very mixed reviews from people on our cruise. Let me tell you about breakfast/lunch service………great concept in theory, but it JUST DID NOT WORK…..!!!!!!!! There is nothing you can grab and go. You have to sit down, wait for a server to come to the table, then order, then wait for said food/drinks to arrive. I am not joking when I tell you that we waited NO LESS than 30-35 minutes each and every time we sat for a meal in the galley…..so disappointing on many levels. Order an express breakfast (scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, sausage) and you are in for a 35 minute wait or longer. This seemed to be the same complaint from almost 100% of the people on our ship. It just doesn’t work. Also, the menu at each of the places offering breakfast and lunch do not change. There is no variety. Same thing every singe day…..burgers, tacos, salads, sushi, ramen, etc. none of which was very good at all. I’m not sure I finished any breakfast or lunch at all. In fact, it’s the first cruise I’ve been on where I actually lost weight……
