Oh boy, this is my first Prince's cruise, I have been a steady Carnival cruiser for 20 years, but this trip we changed to Princess. So after 2 at sea days getting from Sydney to New Zealand, the dreaded announcement came on from our captain that the call to the Bay of Islands (1st port-of-call) was getting cancelled due to weather, namely winds about 25kts. That the Majestic couldn't hold her anchor is such winds. Although putting to anchor a 143 thousand ton ship in such winds does sound a bit challenging, actually the Captain said "uncomfortable", as disappointed as we were, we pressed on to Auckland (at 8kts mind you). This morning, on day five, the captain again came on with a " Sorry to disappoint..." message that we are too big to get permission to birth and will be again at sea. And now, as I write this, our 2nd port of call to Auckland is also cancelled.

So captive on the ship, with mediocre food and scant entertainment this WAY overcrowded ship is our home.

Now I realize in our travel "agreement" they talk about weather conditions, etc. , but my point is the weather system and forecast called for theses seas and winds, they KNEW before we were even untied from Sydney that the conditions were prohibitive. They should have made an announcement and allowed us to cancel and rebook. I would have rather spent another couple weeks in Australia than on this boat circling New Zealand for two weeks.

Cabin Review

It's a basic cabin.. what can I say...The attached photo was of a cup of coffee with "milk" it was horrible.
