We have went on several cruises with Norwegian and Royal Caribbean, but not Carnival Freedom. We had several issues before leaving with CF after we did an upgrade to our room. They charges us again for soda and gratuities after the upgrade. Please make sure that you understand it is a bubbles soda package(CF doesn't tell you it is just pepsi products)- We paid for extra for a suite with extra benefits of getting on the ship early and getting off of ship early. They didn't honor that nor acted like they understood what we were saying. Our other cruise ships have soda fountain machine at different places all over ship, but not Carnival Freedom. We had to wait in line at the bar every single time to get a pepsi- lines were sometimes 20 minutes. I paid for premium wifi- this ship is so old that most areas were not wifi. I had to buy a separate plan from Verizon to use on this trip. My brother had the same problem with his wifi, so he had to pay extra to AT&T. The servers never come to your table at dinner asking if you need anything-EVER. They charged us again for $180 gratuities on the last day, so we had to go back to customer service asking them to take it off. The whole Carnival experience was a scam. Please be aware and ask the right questions because they will try to charge several extra charges on your card. I will never use them again. Our room attendant was very nice- nothing else was worth it.
