Sail Date: Feb 2024

We just returned home from our Rivera Maya Voyage on Virgin's Scarlet Lady. This was my Partner and I's first experience sailing with Virgin, and the experience was great overall!! I think this cruise line will continue to make waves in the industry and I have a lot of appreciation for the way they stand out from other cruise lines. However, there were some aspects that did affect our experience that I want to share here - we have sailed with Royal and Carnival in the past, so many of these things are in comparison to those two. Keep in mind that depending on your style of cruising and lifestyle, you may not find the same issues that we did.

First, what we loved:

We booked with Virgin primarily because it's an adults only cruise. My partner and I are 25 and 29 and don't have any kids of our own yet, we were seeking a mature, modern vibe and that is what was delivered! I will say it was really great to relax by the pool without interruption from children screaming on the waterslide, lol. I loved the cheeky humour and fun vibes from the Happenings Cast, as well as the theme nights (PJ Party and Scarlet Night were a blast).

Cabin Review

Cabin itself was great - we like the interior cabin because it forces us to get out and about instead of hanging out in our room. The storage was fine for what we brought, we both packed just carry-ons and found space for our belongings with no problem.

Our stewardess, Samantha, was amazing!! Very friendly and attentive, she noticed that we went through a lot of water and so was really good with asking if we needed it refilled when we saw her in the halls.

We loved the shower, it had really great pressure! We used the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided and loved the quality of the products.

The toilet paper was great quality!! This one was a pleasent surprise, i'm used to the cheap 1 ply on other cruise lines but they didn't cheap out on VV, lol.

Our only complaint about the cabin is that the sink was too small, and if you arent careful when washing your hands you'll splash water all over ourself and the floor!
