We chose this cruise as a 50 th wedding anniversary for these reasons: Greenland, a new, fascinating location, Newfoundland, land where my mother was born and my first visit, and my husband and I love the province of Québec and the St. Lawrence and have had great travel experiences there.
This was an extraordinary cruise by Windstar. The places visited were a great interest and love for us, but adding to that Windstar Cruises did a great job. On board they had two experts on Arctic travel, they were experts on the place, the environment, climate, all things ice and artists with cameras. They gave 2 lectures each day at sea, they were generous with their time and expertise and the knowledge that we gained from them made for a place such as Greenland all that more fascinating. We also had one of the best captains in our 27 cruises with Windstar. He made the remanents of Hurricane Lee not scary and very comfortable. He announced the route he was going to take and why. He kept us informed. He announced late a night the Northern Lights so the passengers could have the light show of their lives, our life anyway. He was available, friendly and highly competent.
What we are used to on Windstar Cruises was all there: great cabin, wonderful laundry, great showers with terrific water pressure and hot water, terrific, varied foods, unbelievable staff, therefore service, beautiful ship. This cruise had it all. We loved everything. Highly recommend for those who love cruising and different experiences, people who find getting out their comfort zone a positive challenge, people who want to see climate change up close, people who love different cultures and people who are enchanted by different vistas, this was a cruise for you.
Great stateroom, the prestretch configuration, bed first and the sitting area by the balcony door. Roomy, lots of storage, very comfortable and great bed to be rocked asleep by the ocean. Walk-in shower, WS has the best water pressure and hot water flow of any hotel or ship we have been in I wish I could take it home!
