Previously sailed other MSC ships with good to excellent experiences. Happy to find this ship sailing from NYC. Unfortunately, the cruise was plagued by what we experienced as poor management planning, execution and equally poor customer service on deck 5.
What we liked - Room was always well cleaned and maintained. Entertainment by dancers and singers was the best. Main Dining Room service staff were always attentive and friendly.
What needs improvement - Main Dining – Day 1 and 2 seating was chaotic with passengers given wrong dining times, several tables ‘double booked,” seating people not speaking the same language.
Well maintained and clean
Boston has a lot of possibilities for the cruiser from excursions to using public transportation.
The city is within a few minutes walking distance with a host of shopping and historical homes to view.
Difficult to access. One option is to use the NYC ferry system to get you to Red Hook stop and walk the five minutes to the terminal.
If you have to tender it may take some time away from your time to visit the city. Tours to mansions vary so be careful to read the descriptions. Some are drive-by and others include some admission into them. If you have been inside other mansions of this era these are pretty much the same design and decor.
Another walk able city with maps provided at the Visitors Center.
