This was my first and last experience with Carnival. The first thing I noticed boarding the ship was how the staff did not interact well with the cruisers. The staff was kind and polite, but did not initiate any type of quality customer service. The ship is older and shows all the signs of wear and tear that are expected with an older ship. However, dirty is different than wear and tear. The dining areas particularly in the buffet were disgusting. The food was terrible. I didn't find one meal that I walked away saying that was good. The ship's activities were extremely boring. I have never seen so much trivia and name that tune in my life. There was more pride in the towel animals made each day by the cleaning staff displayed around the ship than cleaning, quality and service. If I won a free cruise on this ship I would give it away to someone I don't care for. I compared this ship to a ship my wife and I sailed from the same port, the same age of the ship and similar size, last year with a different cruise line and there is no comparison. I believe this ship is going to be dry-docked soon. I don't know if it's being refurbished or decommissioned, but if something doesn't change with this ship it should be decommission and the staff retrained. It was such a poor experience that I am afraid to try another Carnival ship. All I can say is my 8 days abroad the ship were relaxing and I was glad to get home so I could write this review and book a different ship for next year.
Our balcony cabin was fine, and our room attendant was one of the few pluses.
Booked an excursion to Banana Bay and it was good. Nice beach, and very relaxing. Freeport itself is nasty. I would not go back.
Nassau is beautiful and I would go back. We booked an excursion with Two Reef Snorkel and it was a great experience.
I loved Key West. I have a friend who was raised in Key West and I knew where too go based on their recommendations. Key West is beautiful and easy to get around. If you are fit, walk through Key West and take your time, its a gem.
