I went on the same cruise ship and itinerary a year ago and wrote this review. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=695956
I still agree with most of it. There was a change made for the better - the elevator controls have been switched to standard press buttons! I think this made a huge improvement in the wait times at the elevators.
The cast and crew on the ship were absolutely amazing. I saw several of the same people working. Everyone, from the dining staff to the entertainment and our stateroom attendant were top notch. They are a big reason I cruise with Disney.
This is a stateroom on the aft of the ship with a larger verandah and smaller interior than other "Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah." (DOSWV)
If you spend a lot of time on your balcony, this could be a great room for you. There are two chairs, a small table, and 2 loungers. We definitely enjoyed the views going in and out of ports.
I would not book this room if you are more than two people who can share a queen bed. There is a chair that converts to a twin bed, but it's no where near as comfortable as the couches that turn in to a bed in most rooms. The other issue is that when the bed is pulled out, you can't walk around it, only climb over it. In other DOSWV, you can still walk around with the couch in bed mode.
Another con is the distance from elevators and stairs. It's not unreasonably long, but probably the farthest you can get from the elevators. Slightly annoying but not a deal killer.
I'm glad I tried this room, but will definitely go back to the mid ship rooms next time.
