My husband and took this cruise November 10-December 12. We knew we had many sea days-20 I believe. In the paper that the Viking Star puts out daily, there were so many activities that a person could not do them all. We chose bridge and every day played for 2 hours. A person could also play 2 hours in the afternoon but we didn't opt for that activity. The Star, as well as the other Viking ships, had the workout machines, pool, exercise classes etc that anyone could participate in--no charge. The restaurants were plentiful and open to all. We opted for the World Cafe--a buffet selection of food on both sides of Level 7. Loved the "gelato station" for dessert more evenings than I would like to admit. The people who worked at the restaurants, cleaned our staterooms two times daily, and did many things around the ship are to be commended. The ship was IMMACULATE! The corridors, decks, everywhere was perfectly cleaned. We took excursions around the ship--the galley, the engine room and the bridge. These were led by David, the second in command on the ship. The captain talked to us about the bridge. We cannot think of anything that I can complain about!
Our cabin was very well thought out. Although small (270 feet) there was a place for everything. Our cabin attendant was very attentive and cleaned our cabin and bathroom twice a day.
Loved the water excursion--the guide was great.
The excursion to Pearl Harbor was a tour that I loved the most. Standing on the Arizona was beyond what we expected. My husband and I were both touched by the history.
