We almost always sail Celebrity. This was our first time on an Edge Series (newer, more modern) Celebrity ship. We chose the Apex for the itinerary, and sailed Aqua Class. You could tell this ship was more luxurious the minute you boarded. This was the first time we had an infinite veranda which makes a big difference in your balcony view and cabin living space. The stateroom had a lot of hidden storage space--which we had never experienced on any cruises before. You can alternate complimentary dining rooms, instead of eating in the same one every single night. We definitely had a couple favorites. We ate in Cyprus, the Greek restaurant the most. My husband enjoys sailing Aqua Class so we can eat breakfast in BLU. We also used the Spa, with the salt room, heated loungers, and swings. It was very relaxing. The electronics and LED screens used on the ship were impressive...especially in the theater. Edge Series cruises are more expensive, but WOW! What an experience. We usually look for a deal on a cruise since we live in Florida. We will now be willing to pay a little more for luxury.
Infinite Veranda cabins have a balcony that is a part of your stateroom. You can close off the balcony and sit outside with 1/2 of the window down to the position of a regular balcony, or leave the window up and have a floor to ceiling air conditioned view of the water. There is a automated retractable shade for privacy and blackout purposes. We enjoyed sitting in the AC with the ocean view a lot. LOTS of hidden storage in the cabins, which had never happened on any other cruise we have been on.
We have been to San Juan several times. We usually stay in the Old City but this time we took a bus ride to the newer part. I like that there is a CVS and a Walgreens right by the port in case you forgot anything from home.
First time to St. Kitts. We chose a bus ride tour of the island. It is scenic and absolutely beautiful. There were a lot of cruisers waiting on the dock for excursions, and a LOT of vans and buses waiting, so that was a bit of a mess, but after we got going it was fine.
We chose a scenic tour as this was our first time in Tortola BVI. It was in an open air bus. It took us to Cane Garden beach, where you could rent a chair and buy food or drinks (we didn't). The beach was minimal. The waves were coming all the way up the beach and many people got wet shoes just by walking the beach...myself included. We waited for the bus ride to resume.
