We used the NCL Promotional Air - Most everyone had to as there are only two scheduled flights to Tahiti per day. They got us to LAX then had 3 maybe 4 charter flights to Tahiti. Lucky for us we were on one of the latter flights that was maybe 2/3 full so we could spread out. The seats in the economy section of the “Air Tahiti Nui” Airbus A310 were most uncomfortable. We arrived with no incident.
Covid: Testing (required by ship) along with vaccination. However, they did not inform us that there were already (rumors have it) about 200 people on the ship quarantined with Covid. My guess is that when they tested to go back to the US, they had a boatload of positive.
Busses took us to the ship (Uneventful).
The Cabin (we were in a balcony) would have been ‘OK’ for a 1999 built ship; but during the upgrade, I believe they decided they needed to put in KING size beds. We had to take turns walking around the bed to get from one side to the other. The bathroom was also very 1999 vintage.
worked out well on our own. Had to walk to end of Peer (industrial) before you can find any vendors.
Post cruise tour - good (for us as we had a very late flight) but there were problems with lunch and if you can skip DOLE do it!
must take ship tour, otherwise nothing to do. expensive but some worth it.
