I work at a university that is closed for two weeks around the winter holidays, so taking a cruise that encompasses that period means I save my leave for other times – and (usually) have less work-related email to worry about. So this year’s holiday cruise continued that pattern. This was our third cruise with Azamara and our second holiday cruise on Onward.

Enough intro – let’s get on board:

We took the tender to the island and DW sat near the beach while I walked up the hill (280 feet – or about 30 flights of steps) to see the views from the church atop the hill. The beaches were lovely as was the view, but the island is otherwise pretty low-key, with a population of under 300.

Virgin Gorda

This was our first time on this island, and we took the ship tour to see the views, including the ancient copper mine and the famous Baths. It’s a beautiful island and I’d like to return to see inside the cave and the Baths, something we did not get to on this trip.
