On the whole we would rate the ship 9.5 /10
So firstly the positives
It was a bit chaotic getting onto the ship we believe this was because of the Singapore immigration procedures and other ports of call immigration requirements
this is a very interesting and impressive place it is
cultural diverse as approximately 75% of residents are Chinese or of Chinese descendants
English is the first language and most of the signs/building names are in English so getting around and working out where you are is ok
Please be mindful as Singapore is one of the most expensive countries on the Asian continent so budget a bit more for meals and drinks as the humidity will cause you some issues
They have a very good transportation system called mrt (underground)which is very efficient and punctual but can be a bit initially a bit confusing
To pay on the mrt you can either pay via your debit card or purchase a Singapore tourist pass for 1/2/3 days travel . this can be purchased from a mrt station but only after 10 am and in cash strangely
As Singapore is an expensive city it is well worth doing some research beforehand to find a good value restaurant (we found one called wing song fatty restaurant)
the prices were good for Singapore small plates 15 Singapore dollars and they were plenty big enough
you could tell this was a family run restaurant
our meals arrived amazingly quickly and we're piping hot
we had a combination off the egg fried noodles ,boiled rice, sweet & sour chicken and chicken & green pepper .complete with soft drinks came to under 50 dollars
we were so impressed went there the following night
highly recommended
sydney
We were here for 2 days at the end of our cruise
So having done research we had a good idea what we wanted to do
Once checked into hotel made our way to central station (very helpful person advised us on travel passes opel cards )
Got light railway /tram to circular quay then ferry to taronga zoo (booked tickets online beforehand) (remember to tap on off on public transport )
Then returned to hotel had meal out at darling harbour
Day 2
got public transport to Bondi beach tram/bus 333 from circular quay
Botanical garden by Sydney opera house worth a visit as well
The local authority provided a free transfer to the town
Takes about 15 minutes to walk
The town was quite nice to walk around
We found the toursest information to be very helpful
And were able to give us information about bus 4 which took us to darwin botanical gardens
Unfortunately these we found to be a bit underwhelming so not sure it was worth the visit
The attraction that did stand out for us was the world war 2 oil tunnels well worth a visit and located not far from were the ship docks
