I am a Platinum cruiser with Carnival and have always enjoyed each and every cruise, there have been many. One of the many enjoyments is the Lido Buffet. This was my first SUNSHINE cruise, and I was disappointed. The ship is old. I always get a balcony room and noticed the rooms are smaller, and if you don't mind standing on the toilet to close the bathroom door than you'll have no problems. The Lido Buffet has always been amazing except on this ship. The food was not edible, seriously. It was always cold, the eggs were soupy, the grits were soupy, the breads were hard, lunch at the buffet was horrible and the dinner was just as bad. Literally walking down the buffet the food choices were horrendous. BOILED FROG LEGS! We literally had to eat a sandwich from the deli, and to get a decent meal we ate in the dining room. Carnival needs to really consider making changes, whether it be the chef, the cooks and definitely the meal planner. I purchased three cruises on Carnival Sunshine at the same time, I'm now regretting it. Our next cruise is May 2024 and again in 2025. I wish I'd known beforehand how bad the food was, this would've been my first and last cruise on the Sunshine.

Cabin Review

Balcony

The balcony cabin is small compared to the other Sarnival ships and you need to stand on the toilet just to close the door.
