My wife and I are veteran cruisers. This was probably our 20th cruise. This was, by far, the worst cruise we've ever had. It was obvious that Ritz has only been in the cruise business for a year. For the money, I would pick Seabourn, Crystal and Silver Seas 10X over this experience. The communication was the poorest we've ever had and the ship was boring. We scoured our dashboard weekly and still had no idea there was a White dress up night and a 70's Disco party night. We were also never informed of a Cocktail class one day, it was never in the daily newsletter. We love music, but a 4 piece band or single guitarist were your only options every night. Trivia and a napkin folding class, really!! Also, there was not a place on the ship to play cards comfortably. All low tables. Cigar lounge was too small and poorly ventilated. Our Suite was lovely and the biggest we've every had. The staff was friendly and professional. However, our concierge did come by to see us until day 3. Finally, the disaster of coming out of the Casablanca port and the breakwater. We received a 10 minute warning to sit down because it could be rough (understatement of the year) 5 minutes later as my wife was in the closet changing it hit. A drawer with the safe in it flew out and hit her hard on the shin and caused a big gash. All the bottles and wine glasses in our room crashed to the floor and broke all over the beige carpet. They delayed dinner by 30-45 minutes so they could clean up all the broken glass in the bars and dining rooms. NO instructions were ever given to secure your bottles and glassware. Bottom line, we would never recommend the Ritz cruise to anyone. For what they charge, it's a crime for that poor quality of cruise experience.

Food and beverage director was very good. Grand majority of our servers were excellent. Suite Concierge was nice but hugely inefficient because he had 15-20 other suites to maintain. I felt bad for him. They are experiencing tremendous growing pains. Two or our 4 ports were so industrial that we could not use our balcony for 2 days because of the sand that was being unloaded from cargo ships right beside us. They need to fix their poor communication as far as what to expect. It was even hard to find the ship to board. Lots of issues, don't waste your money. For us not including air fare it was $40K for our suite and that was not the biggest suites on the ship.

Cabin Review

Overall the cabin was great. Very large and two walk in closets which was nice. but for almost $40K it better be.
