We did the Passion Island beach day, and it was horrible. The best part was the ferry (not really a catamaran) over to the island. The drinks were limited and pre-mixed. They ran out of cold beer less than an hour in, and they ran out of plates, forks, etc. multiple times. They were cross-contaminating the utensils by switching between the different dishes, and people were getting really angry. ...

We booked the “all inclusive” vip beach excursion from Virgin. Although it was pricy at $200 pp, the food and drinks were good. We had ceviche, quac, mahi and fish tacos. The quac was far better than what was served on ship. The Margaretta was excellent and the beer cold. The beach waiter ran his butt off taking care of us. Pretty much every cruise out of Galveston stops in Cozumel. There are few exceptions. For a variety of reasons we didn't have an excursion this time, but there are a number I've enjoyed in the past such as Discover Mexico and a dolphin encounter.
