Efficient getting on and off ship. Port is a little far from the town proper, but cabs were plentiful and were $15-20 each way (and we didn't haggle). Mazatlan is a good mix of new and old. Beaches are excellent -- much better than P.V., IMO. ...

Shore excursions got a bit pricier and shorter. Had 8 hours there and beach excursion stopped after only 4.5 hours. So pay attention to the time better than I did. Working port so have to take transport that everyone wants tipped on.

We have walked downtown and it’s fairly interesting but not great. The Mazatlan port is very industrial, but they do have a nice cruise terminal with lots of shopping and a great outdoor place called Green Bar where you can get drinks and really good tacos. ...
