NCL docks at Ward Cove which is a major criticism for many as its a long shuttle to Ketchikan with the possibility of a long wait for the return trip. I don't know how long it will take for Ward Cove to build up, maybe a decade or more. Until then, I'm sure many NCL passengers will have similar criticism of Ketchikan ...

The ship docks at Ward Cove and uses a shuttle bus to get to Ketchikan. This is about a 20-minute ride. The tram into the mountains is right at the dock. We went to the Lumberjack Show. The shuttle bus drop-off point is close to the Lumberjack Show. I believe only NCL uses the Ward Cove terminal, other cruise lines dock close to town. We booked the Ketchikan Photography Safari through Princess Cruise excursions. FABULOUS! Would recommend and would do again! No excursions here, just a stroll up to Creek Street. Not many live salmon left in the creek. Very nice shops and we happened to notice the Tongass Historical Museum which was $5 admission for seniors. Small but very nice museum. Passed on the Lumberjack Show which we can see at the Evergreen State Fair for free. ...

Here at this port, there was a warehouse converted into a mini shopping center and also was the place where you would catch your excursions. ...

Not the best (sorry Ketchikan!) as the main walking areas were very close to port. It seems locals like to torture themselves by driving through that main street hugging the coastal area next to port and it angers them cruise ships and tourists exist. It angers them so much, they speed up at pedestrian crossings even in the pouring rain with no regards for the foot traffic. The shops open after ...
