Slated to launch in 2024, Disney Treasure will be the sixth vessel in Disney Cruise Line's growing fleet. The second of the three 4,000-passenger Wish-class vessels which are the largest in the fleet, it will be a sister ship to Disney Wish launched in 2022 and the unnamed third vessel that will enter service in 2025.

Disney Treasure Deck Plans Will Feature a New Aladdin-Inspired Grand Hall

Being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the ship will have 1,254 cabins and be powered by liquefied natural gas. Disney has announced Disney Treasure will be designed around the theme of adventure, with nods to the movies "Coco," "Zootopia" and several Disney theme park attractions.

In keeping with previous vessels, there will be a signature atrium character statue which is a tradition on Disney's ships. Instead of one character, Disney Treasure will be the first to have three in the atrium called the Grand Hall. Centered on the 1992 movie "Aladdin", the bronze figures will be of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and the animated Magic Carpet. There will also be an all-new hull motif.

On the top deck, the AquaMouse attraction returns with a new Mickey and Minnie-themed adventure story. The Quiet Cove adults-only area is also back, with its own infinity pool, poolside bar and cafe.

Disney Treasure Dining to Include New Coco-Themed Experience

Disney is introducing a brand-new interactive dining experience onboard Disney Treasure. Plaza de Coco will be a modern Mexican restaurant that features two performances involving Miguel and his familia. On a weeklong voyage, passengers will be able to dine at Plaza de Coco twice, under Disney's signature rotational dining program where you go to a different assigned restaurant each night.

The other two restaurants onboard will be World of Marvel, which features a show involving the Avengers, and 1923, which pays homage to classic Walt Disney animation.

Disney Treasure Rooms include Tomorrow Tower Suite, Adventure-themed Royal Suites

Rooms on Disney Treasure will have the same signature split-bath concept that makes Disney Cruise Line so appealing for families. Of the 1,256 cabins onboard, 451 of the rooms have connecting doors so larger family groups can travel together. The majority of the rooms, 877, have a balcony.

The four Royal suites onboard are themed to the large cats that appear in Disney animated films. Two of them will be called the Bagheera Royal Suites, named for the panther in "The Jungle Book" while the Rajah Royal Suites honor Princess Jasmine's tiger from "Aladdin."

Finally, the Tomorrow Tower Suite in the ship's funnel is a futuristic take on Walt Disney's EPCOT center. The 2,000-square-foot suite can sleep eight, and comes with a host of amenities, including a full private kitchen and elevator.

Want to be First Onboard? Disney Treasure's Maiden Voyage is in December 2024

Disney Treasure will have its maiden voyage on Dec. 21, 2024, with a seven-night sailing to the Eastern Caribbean from Port Canaveral.

Disney Treasure Itineraries Will Visit Eastern and Western Caribbean; Possibly Lighthouse Point

Once it launches, Disney Treasure will sail weeklong itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.

The launch of Disney Treasure is set to coincide with the opening of Disney's second private Bahamian island, Lighthouse Point. Following on from Castaway Cay, which Disney opened in 1998, the line needed a second destination to cater to its expanding fleet sailing out of the U.S. The 758-acre Lighthouse Point is due to open in 2024 -- the same year as the ship launch -- so there is a good chance it could be added to Disney Treasure itineraries. Stay tuned.

Disney Treasure Stats

The ship will be 144,000 gross tons and carries 4,000 passengers at full occupancy with 1,555 crew.
