Volga Dream Cruises Tips, Activities, and Overview

Who goes on Volga Dream cruise ships?

Many passengers who sail with the Volga Dream are experienced cruisers, usually, but not exclusively, aged 50 and over, coming from the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K., Germany and France (for German- and French-speaking groups, there is always a dedicated interpreter aboard).

Do I have to dress up on a Volga Dream cruise?

Not really. Casual, comfortable clothes and good shoes are needed for shore excursions. There is no set dress code onboard; however, for the captain's welcome and farewell cocktails, and evening concerts, many passengers choose to dress more smartly.

Is everything free on Volga Dream cruises?

No. Cruise fares include Wi-Fi, guided excursions, airport transfers, all meals and wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner. Bar drinks, retail shop purchases and gratuities are not included.

What are Volga Dream’s most popular activities?

Travelers choose Volga Dream for its extensive land-based portion of the cruise/tour, both before the cruise and during shore excursions. Onboard, lectures by Russian professors on history and politics, a costumed Russian tea ceremony, Russian cooking class, language lessons, music recitals and vodka tasting are among the most popular activities.

Why go with Volga Dream?

  • Traditional Russian culture and cuisine
  • High crew-to-passenger ratio
  • Transfers, tours and hotels included

Best for: Curious travelers looking for an authentic Russian experience

Not for: Sun-and-sleep vacationers, anyone uninterested in history and other cultures
