PolarQuest Cruises Tips, Activities, and Overview

Who goes on PolarQuest cruise ships?

PolarQuest draws adventurous, educated nature-lovers who want to immerse themselves in the destinations they visit. Though most are Swedish (due to the company's Swedish heritage), you'll also find people from a variety of European countries. On occasion, North Americans, Australians and Asians join PolarQuest's voyages, but that's not the norm. Expect to meet singles and couples, mostly in their 60s, though there will be the occasional family. PolarQuest can help match up single travelers who want to share a cabin (same-sex cabins only).

Do I have to dress up on a PolarQuest cruise?

No. Dress is casual during the day and evening. Pack for comfort, and leave your formal duds at home.

Is everything free on PolarQuest cruises?

It all depends on the ship and itinerary, but every PolarQuest voyage includes Zodiac shore excursions led by a naturalist guide. Some sailings also include a pre- and/or post-cruise night hotel and select alcoholic drinks with meals. Even gratuities are sometimes included on certain ships and itineraries.

What are PolarQuest’s most popular activities?

Zodiac excursions are, by far, the most popular activity for PolarQuest's passengers. Excursions may involve cruising alongside glaciers and icebergs, or landing ashore for easy walks or vigorous hikes. Just as popular is wildlife viewing from the ship; because the ships are all small, no one has to push or shove to get a view.

Why go with PolarQuest?

  • Itineraries that specialize in the Arctic are great for adventure-seekers.
  • Small ships with low passenger counts make for personalized experiences.
  • Expert guides with a range of backgrounds lead all expeditions.

Best for: Nature-lovers seeking one-of-a-kind, in-depth, exploration of Arctic regions

Not for: Anyone adverse to small, bare-bones ships with portholes and bunkbeds

Very nice ship, but low PolarQuest service

but if after the trip all these problems are simply handled by PolarQuest by stating that some "unlucky details happened", than you ask which service level PolarQuest is heading for ....especially if you navigate in a higher price segment with 6500€+ per person for the trip.Read More
