As if Disney cruises didn't already make young passengers feel magical, Disney Cruise Line has added the extra-fee Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to the five current ships in its fleet.
The boutique, similar to a hair salon, transforms kids into various characters, including pirates, princesses, knights and even Captain Mickey.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a unique Disney experience where little ones are transformed from normal kids into a character of their choosing (determined by the package that you book).
The boutique employs a team of crew members who do hair, makeup, nails, pirate beards and other cosmetic work. When you make a reservation for the service, you choose a package, and it details the products, clothes, and services you’ll receive.
Depending on the package chosen, little ones choose appropriate costumes -- dresses, suits of armor, captain's uniforms or pirate garb -- to complete the look. Costumes can be taken home as souvenirs.
Although the boutique doesn't transform adults into princesses or captains, slots are kept available for overgrown kids who want to be made up for Pirate Night, which is held once per sailing.
Appointments are highly recommended and can even be made prior to boarding the ship. They take appointments on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to make a reservation early on if it’s an important experience during your trip.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique does accept walk-ins, but due to the high rate of bookings, it’s less likely you’ll get a spot.
Check with your little one(s) before making a reservation online, as cancellations can be tricky.
Reservations are available before you sail and depend on your Castaway Club membership level.
Here are the advance booking window options for Disney’s different membership levels: First-Time Guests slots are available 75 days prior to the sail date, Silver Castaway Club Member slots are available 90 days prior to the sail date, Gold Castaway Club Member slots are available 105 days prior to the sail date, Platinum Castaway Club Member and Concierge Guests slots are available 120 days prior to the sail date.
A visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique isn't cheap. As expected, the more expensive the package, the more inclusions your child receives. Sadly, trips to this mesmerizing Disney service aren't included in your cruise fare.
Prices vary depending on what your child gets (hairstyling, hair gel, sword, shield, nail polish and so on). Accessories, such as shoes, cost extra.
The price for an adult to undergo a swashbuckling transformation for Pirate Night is one fixed price.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique can be found on Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic, Disney Wish and Disney Wonder.
